Manicure Treatment

After care

  • Bio sculpture gel on average can last from 7-21 days depending on your after
    care and other factors such as water exposure, your current nail condition and
    how fast your nails grow.
  • To receive the maximum results, we advise using gloves when cleaning, apply
    cuticle oil/hand cream daily to keep the nail and surrounding area healthy and
    moisturised, if the gel does start to lift, please do not peel the gel off, as this can
    damage the natural nail.
  • Should your nails become damaged within the first 7 days (only gel), then we
    will kindly offer a free repair service however after the 7 days we will have to
    take a small charge unless there has been a technical fault.
  • Due to your lifestyle, your gel nails will need 2-3 weekly maintenance as you will
    start to see the regrowth and the gels may lift, before picking your gels off, book
    in through our online booking system therefore we can keep your nails looking
    great and healthy.

Pedicure Treatment

Aftercare

  • To receive the maximum results, we advise to apply cuticle oil/foot cream daily to
    keep the nail and surrounding area healthy and moisturised
  • Invest in Orthopaedic insoles with good arch support and cushioning. This helps
    reduce foot pain from standing all day. They control overpronation, improve body
    alignment and distribute the pressure on the feet. Padding under the heel to
    cushion and help alleviate heel pain.
  • Wear cotton socks as they allow the feet to breath and do not induce sweating.
  • Should you choose polish, then please allow adequate time after your pedicure for
    your nails to dry and wear open toe shoes/flip flops.
  • Do not cut the toenails too short or down the sides as this will make them grow
    inwards.
  • Invest in some aftercare products which you can purchase at Hollymae’s to
    maintain healthy feet in-between appointments.
  • Hollymae’s would recommend having a pedicure treatment at least every 4-
    6 weeks to ensure maximum results.

Waxing services

Pre care

  • We offer waxing menstruating guests and are happy to proceed with the
    treatment. However, we kindly ask for a 24-hour notice to reschedule your
    appointment to avoid a cancellation fee.
  • Please arrive with skin free of any moisturiser or make-up if possible.
  • To achieve the best result, we advise growing the hair to a minimum of
    approximately 3- 4mm.
  • Please notify us if you have been taking Accutane or Steroidal medication,
    or any other medication that thins the skin.

After care

  • Wearing loose fitting clothing will help reduce irritation and ingrowing hairs
    after waxing, within the first 48hours.
  • Even if the technique is done correctly, you will experience erythema (redness)
    which can take around 48-72hours to calm down.
  • Avoid hot showers and do not engage in any vigorous exercise or sun exposure
    within the 48hours.
  • Wearing SPF is advised after waxing. Depending on the wax used, a layer of
    dead skin is removed causing your skin to be more exposed to sunlight, so
    protection is needed.
  • To minimise skin irritation, avoid, sun exposure, chlorine pools, saunas, and hot
    tubs within the first 48hours.
  • Use a gentle exfoliator daily then apply moisturiser afterwards or after lotion
    to help lift the hair from the root, this prevents hair breakage and is proven to
    achieve a better result. It also helps prevent ingrown hairs.
  • Once a 3-4mm growth has appeared the area is ready to be waxed again.
    Normally, waxing appointments are booked 4-6 weeks apart.
  • Avoid antiperspirant and perfume on the area until the erythema (redness) has
    reduced.

Eye treatment

Pre care

  • If you wear contact lenses, be sure to take them out before the procedure.
    Please, if possible, arrive free of eye makeup to ensure Hollymae has the
    correct amount of treatment time.
  • If you’re having the Henna brow treatment or Brow tinting, please arrive
    free of fake tan as the active tint/henna reacts with the tan creating an
    unsightly stain on the skin that’s difficult to remove.
  • Patch test is required for all eye treatments at least 48hours prior to
    treatment. You can book your patch test via the online booking system.
  • For best results regarding brow treatments please try to allow the brow
    hair to grow before coming to your appointment so Hollymae has
    something to work with.

Aftercare

  • To ensure your tint/henna lasts longer, avoid using exfoliating
    alpha hydroxy and glycolic acid cleansers, which can strip
    colour from brows, around your eyes.
  • Lash lifting-Expect results to last 6-8weeks, after which your
    lashes will relax back to their natural state, new lashes have
    grown, ready to be treated again.
  • Avoid getting eye area wet for at least 24hours. Wash carefully
    around the eyes without wetting, avoid swimming or steamy showers.
  • Henna-Exposure to the sun/UV lights for long periods can
    cause the tint to fade quicker.
  • Please note that oil-based makeup remover can cause the tint
    to fade quicker.
  • Avoid fake tan for 48hours as it may discolour the tint and
    irritate the treated area

Massage treatment

Aftercare

  • Drink plenty of water after your treatment. This helps with dehydration, lost
    fluids, reduces fatigue, as well as helps eliminate toxins from your body.
  • Avoid drinking alcohol or caffeine containing beverage for 12hours as they have
    dehydrating properties.
  • As much as you’d love to get back to your duties, try to avoid strenuous activity
    for the next 12hours, to help your body relax and de-stress further, Hollymae’s
    strongly advises this.
  • When sitting for longer than 20minutes, stand up to stretch and gently warm up
    your joints. Fetch yourself a glass of water.
  • Massage treatments are more effective when performed on a regular basis. Make
    sure to book your next session promptly.
  • In-between massage treatments, please stretch daily.
